Castle of Viñuelas Wedding: an “Italian-feel”

Castle of Viñuelas: when design leads, the venue transforms

Some venues are simply “chosen.” Others are directed—shaped into a visual story. Castle of Viñuelas is a perfect canvas for high-end celebrations, especially when you’re willing to step beyond the usual layouts and unlock spaces that are often overlooked.

For this wedding, the goal wasn’t just to make it pretty. It was to create a cohesive concept—refined, intentional, and beautifully executed from ceremony to dinner.

A side-ceremony setting with an Italian feel

Instead of using the most common ceremony spot, I designed the ceremony on the side of the castle, next to a wall featuring a cross—a striking architectural detail that instantly evokes an Italian sense of timelessness: understated, cinematic, and effortlessly elegant.

This choice was strategic:

  • the backdrop carried natural presence (no need to over-style),

  • the perspective felt intimate and editorial,

  • and the flow into the next moments was seamless.

To elevate the atmosphere, the couple was accompanied by a live string quartet. And importantly, this wasn’t a “ceremony-only” detail: the quartet transitioned with the guests, continuing to set the tone as the celebration moved forward—creating one continuous emotional narrative.

Outdoor reception design: a long rectangular table + spiral table layout

Dinner was the statement moment. I designed an outdoor reception area that moved away from predictable formats by combining:

  1. A long rectangular table—clean, elegant, editorial

  2. A spiral table layout—a highly current concept that feels fresh and visually dynamic

Spiral layouts are trending because they:

  • create movement and a sense of scene,

  • look spectacular from elevated angles,

  • and encourage a more organic guest experience.

The difference between “trendy” and luxury is execution: proportions, materials, lighting, floral rhythm, and overall coherence. Here, every detail was designed to feel elevated—not experimental.

Floral design: green as the hero color

The moodboard was anchored in green—fresh, refined, and deeply sophisticated when layered correctly. The concept came to life thanks to Vannia from Charm & Flower, whose artistry translated the vision into florals with volume, texture, and balance.

This wasn’t about simply “adding greenery.” It was about building a floral language that complemented the architecture and made the tables feel intentional and luxurious.

Wedding planner vs. wedding designer: it’s not Pinterest, it’s creative direction

A key point I always want couples to understand:

A wedding designer is not a planner scrolling through Pinterest.
A wedding designer:

  • builds a clear creative concept with narrative and structure,

  • adapts it realistically to venue, season, timing, and budget,

  • and curates the right professionals to execute it flawlessly.

Luxury is never an accident—it’s direction, expertise, and consistency.

The real value: vetted professionals and protecting couples from “pretty” scams

Today, part of my job is protecting my clients.

I receive dozens—sometimes hundreds—of vendor emails presenting “perfect” portfolios. But in this industry, a beautiful Instagram profile doesn’t always equal real experience, reliable processes, insurance, or proven execution.

When you hire a professional luxury planner, you’re not just outsourcing tasks. You’re investing in:

  • discernment,

  • a verified network,

  • real due diligence,

  • and peace of mind.

I’ve already filtered the professionals—so you don’t have to risk costly mistakes with someone who only looks credible online.

Beyond the basics: design with criteria (not a standard catering setup)

There’s a world of difference between a standard, correct setup and an editorial, high-end design.

My role is to elevate the full visual ecosystem—tables, chairs, linens, glassware, stationery, florals, lighting—and ensure everything aligns with one coherent concept. That’s what luxury feels like: intentionality.
