Irish Wedding between O&M took place on 31 July 2024 at the Convento Carmelitas Descalzos in Toledo.
Followed by a banquet at the Cigarral de las Mercedes estate, with Toledo as the backdrop for a cocktail reception with a cellist.
Orlagh and Matt are a lovely couple who were born in Ireland, but moved to London, where they share their life together. They decided to bring all their family and friends to Toledo to celebrate a religious Irish Wedding.
Both families are Catholic believers, and wanted to celebrate their union in the Convent Carmelitas Descalzos, but so that everyone could follow the homily, Matt’s childhood friend, who has been a Franciscan Priest for the last 2 years, was in charge of the celebration.
Orlagh is a very organised bride with very clear ideas of how she wants her Wedding to be, but as the day approached and she had more and more tasks to do, she realised that she needed professional help, as many things were complicated as she didn’t speak Spanish, especially the bureaucracy.
Therefore, she contacted me, and as soon as we had the meeting to get to know each other, she understood that she needed the help of a Wedding Planner and how Pamela Events was her best support during the rest of the Organization and Coordination of the Wedding Day, with buses for her guests.
The peace of mind of travelling from London to Toledo the days before their Wedding, knowing that they had nothing to worry about but enjoying an informal Welcome dinner on a terrace in Toledo on the Saturday before their big day. Before the Welcome dinner, we went to the Carmelitas convent for a Ceremony Rehearsal, with the parents, Best Man, Maid of Honour and Priest, especially to be clear about the entrances to the Ceremony and the places to be taken by everyone afterwards.
The work of Pamela Events begins early in the morning arriving at the Cigarral de las Mercedes where the bride and groom and their families go to get ready. We have to receive the flowers, take them to the rooms, confirm the arrival of 2 make-up artists and a hairstylist for the Bride, Bridesmaids, mothers and sisters of the couple.
For a wedding to run smoothly and without delays, all suppliers must follow the stipulated timing, coordinated by a wedding planner, which will ensure that the wedding runs smoothly and there are no unnecessary and uncomfortable waiting times for the guests.
Whenever there is transportation of guests such as buses, it is essential that there is a person in charge of coordinating it, because there are always problems with logistics, to avoid these problems, Pamela Events has a person in charge exclusively for this.
As well as the placement and decoration of details for the guests, and other details for the party such as the Signature Book and party articles, another Coordinator of Pamela Events, was exclusively in charge of this, as it could only be done 2 hours before the start of the Cocktail Party.
During the cocktail, to speed up the work of the photographers, and at the same time that the guests can enjoy the food and drinks, it is also important to coordinate to let the relatives know when it is time for the photos, and above all, after the end of the cocktail while Pamela Events accompanies the guests to the banquet area, so that the couple can enjoy the cocktail and a few minutes alone.
After the 2 hours of enjoyment of the succulent banquet prepared by the Cigarral de las Mercedes Catering, it was time to open the party with the First Wedding Dance, and an open bar until late at night for those who could hold out.
It is time to say goodbye to this lovely couple and their family, and they will certainly have a dear place in my heart: thanks to Matt’s words of thanks during his speech, and the singing and hugging as I said goodbye to them and their families.
Thanks to Orlagh and Matt for trusting Pamela Events.
